Meranta Puts Electric Trucks On City Routes

Battery-electric trucks now handle final-mile distribution in several major metros, charging on renewable power at the company's urban depots.

Press Release · Hamburg · 07 April 2026

Meranta has begun running battery-electric trucks on final-mile distribution across several major metropolitan areas, a concrete down payment on its 2040 decarbonisation roadmap. The vehicles work dense urban routes, where electric range and zero tailpipe emissions deliver the clearest return.

The rollout is backed by charging infrastructure at the company's urban distribution centres, drawing on renewable power and recharging fleets during off-peak hours. Routes have been re-planned around real-world vehicle range so daily operations stay reliable rather than aspirational.

Beyond the carbon, the company pointed to quieter streets and lower running costs as wins for customers and for the neighbourhoods the trucks serve. The urban fleet will expand to further cities as charging networks mature.
