Press Release · Rotterdam · 11 June 2026
Meranta has published a roadmap to reach net-zero operational emissions by 2040, anchored by binding five-year checkpoints rather than a single distant promise. The plan covers the company's full operational footprint — terminals, warehouses, and road, rail and ocean movements alike.
At its core are three shifts: electrified yard equipment at every major terminal, lower-carbon fuels phased in across long-haul lanes, and facilities powered by renewable energy. Progress will be reported each year against milestones verified by an independent third party, with an interim goal of a 50 percent cut in operational emissions by 2032.
Leadership cast the target as both a duty and a commercial necessity, pointing to customers who now expect credible carbon data running the length of their supply chains. As part of the plan, every Meranta shipment will carry measurable, consignment-level emissions reporting as standard.
