Modern slavery statement

Meranta acts ethically and with integrity, and works to ensure modern slavery has no place in our business or our supply chains.

Statement for the financial year ending 2025

This statement sets out how Meranta identifies, prevents and addresses the risk of modern slavery and human trafficking — across our own operations and the partners we work with worldwide.

Our commitment

We have zero tolerance for forced labour, human trafficking and exploitation of any kind. Respect for human rights runs through how we move cargo and run our business, and we expect everyone who works for us or with us to hold the same line. Our code of conduct spells this out for employees and suppliers alike.

Supply chain

Our supply chain reaches across many countries — carriers, terminal operators, warehousing partners and service providers. A footprint this wide carries risk, especially where labour practices and enforcement differ. We map these relationships to put attention where risk is highest, including outsourced labour and lower-tier suppliers.

Due diligence

We run risk-based checks before onboarding suppliers and write anti-slavery obligations into our contracts. We watch relationships over time, investigate any concern raised through our reporting channels, and end ties with any partner that falls short of our standards. Procurement and compliance review high-risk areas regularly.

Training

We train colleagues in procurement, operations and management to spot the warning signs of modern slavery and act on them. Anyone with a concern can speak up through our confidential channels. This statement is reviewed and approved each year. Questions go to ethics@meranta.com.
